Life Coaching Versus Therapy

Life coaching is a fairly new area that supports and contributes to mental well being. People may use both life coaching and therapy during different times of their lives depending on what they are going through. There are differences between coaching and therapy that are important to understand.

Therapy is a clinical process aimed at addressing mental health diagnosis, trauma, and other symptoms and problems people may be facing in their lives. This clinical process is very different than life coaching and typically takes a long term commitment, depending on severity of problems.

Life coaching is about meeting you where you are and guiding you forward, sometimes even getting you unstuck. Life coaching helps you navigate where you want to go and who you want to be. It provides positive and meaningful improvements and is often a short term approach to resolving issues, challenges, achieving goals, and overcoming challenges.
